WHOLISTIC HEALTH FOUNDATION (42 hours)
For those wanting to try out the profession of Wellness Coaching for personal
use or use with family and friends. Create for yourself a wholistic wellness
program (including cleansing/detox) and healthy lifestyle modification. "Empower the Healer Within"! (Hours can be credited
towards full programs.) For class description, see curriculum below.
WHOLISTIC HEALTH EDUCATION (10-250 hours)
Chose from most any of the classes listed in the Wholistic Health curriculum described below. This program is designed for individuals wanting to learn natural health care for themselves and their families.
WELLNESS COACH / WHOLISTIC HEALTH CONSULTANT (500 hours)
Includes all classes described below except the 650-hour Wholistic Massage Therapy curriculum. This program is ideal for current health care practitioners (including nurses, physical therapists, nutritionists, physicians, massage therapists, etc.) who are looking to expand their practice to include natural solutions to their clients/patients health conditions and concerns. Prerequisites required, call for details.
WHOLISTIC HEALTH PRACTITIONER (1150 hours)
Includes the Wholistic Massage Therapy Curriculum (650 hours) and the Wholistic Health Curriculum (500 hours) described below. This program is idea for individuals wanting to take clients to the highest level of individual healing through bodywork and personalized wellness programs (including detoxification, cleansing and healthy lifestyle re-education).
CURRICULUM (500 hours)
Wholistic Health: Mind (40 hours) - Includes group discussions on the Universal Concepts of life. Students reconsider their understanding of marriage, relationships, parenting, work, money, health, family, etc and recreate for themselves new or revised concepts (20 hrs). Each concept is then written as a paper to create a Book of Universal Concepts that is unique and personal for each student (20 hrs). (WH101)Wholistic Health: Body (280 hours) - Provides an in-depth look at how the body functions as we work to create optimal health. Each topic presented describes different healing modalities used and the associated physiologic changes and affects. Specific topics include:
- Wholistic Nutrition (40 hrs)
- Physiology of Disease (30 hrs)
- Exercise Physiology (20 hrs)
- Body Balance (20 hrs)
- Elimination (20 hrs)
- Essential Oils (10 hrs)
- Western Herbology (20 hrs)
- Eastern Herbology (20 hrs)
- Raw Foods (40 hrs)
- Natural Skin Care (10 hrs)
- Holistic Iridology (10 hrs)
- Nutraceuticals (10 hrs)
- External Therapies (7 hrs)
- Cleansing Basics (13 hrs)
In the Alternative Health: Special Topics (10 hrs) portion of this class, students research an instructor-approved topic, write a paper, and present their findings to the class. Topics may include homeopathy, researching a specific herb or nutritional supplement, a bodywork technique, etc. (WH102)
Wholistic Health: Spirit (40 hours) - Students are provided with the opportunity to find balance and connect with their own internal healing energies. To enhance each students capacity to focus, stay grounded and give healing energy to their clients, weekly classes are provided in the following (WH103):
- Tai Chi / Chi Gung (20 hrs)
- Relaxation/Meditation (20 hrs)
Wholistic Health: Emotions (20 hours) - Students participate in Group and Personal Dynamics, a group session where problems of an emotional nature are discussed. The sources of the problems are identified and solutions are presented. Students learn to identify the emotional intellect versus intelligent intellect, gain a more profound understanding of the emotional basis of dis-ease and learn to heal the child within. (WH104)
Student Practicum (100 hours) - Students integrate their experience and knowledge into Wholistic cleansing and rejuvenation programs for their clients. Working with the public provides the real-life experience needed to gain confidence in their skills. All aspects of running a clinic including working with clients, preparation of client forms, client intake, client follow-up, bookkeeping, record keeping, scheduling, etc. are presented. Students learn the art of preparing programs that are tailored to meet the specific needs and capabilities of each client. (WH105)
Presentation Skills (10 hours) - Provides instruction in the art of professional presentation including lecturing, public speaking and writing. Students practice presentation skills within the community to simulate real life situations. (WH106)
Business and Ethics (10 hours) - Includes information on the business, legal, and ethical aspects of providing clients with wholistic health programs. California and professional association laws are discussed. Students learn to work with clients using the proper educational and consultative framework. (WH107)
