The term "whole"- istic
refers to the "whole" person; and "Wholistic Health" reflects the
embodiment of all mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional factors
that must be considered to create balance and health in a person's
life. Sky Hill's
Wellness Coach / Wholistic Health Consultant program (500 hours) allows practitioners to offer clients personalized wellness programs (including detoxification). The 1150-hour
Wholistic Health Practitioner program (including both the
Wholistic Massage Therapy [650-hour] and the
Wellness Coach / Wholistic Health Consultant [500-hour] programs) allows practitioners to combine bodywork with other alternative healing therapies. Graduates use their
acquired skills and knowledge to assist clients in creating optimal
health. The 500 additional hours include a variety of topics
including raw foods, nutrition, exercise physiology, meditation, yoga, herbology, essential oil therapy, universal concepts, group and personal dynamics, etc.
Philosophically,
Wholistic Health practitioners are educators and counselors. They
embrace the belief that "dis-ease" of the body reflects mental,
physical, spiritual, and emotional imbalance. Using their bodywork
skills as Wholistic Massage Therapists and their additional training in
alternative therapies, practitioners guide their clients to a higher
level of individual healing.
True healing is an internal process where individuals search for and
resolve the conflict within, be it mental, physical, spiritual, or
emotional in nature. Each person's healing experience is uniquely
personal and profound. Working with clients in this capacity requires
great sensitivity, knowledge,
skill, and awareness and a deep belief in the natural healing powers of
the human body. Our program provides not only the skills, knowledge and
understanding required by practitioners to guide their energies to
optimal healing, but also allows them to realize and integrate each
their own innate sensitivity and wisdom.
